We were honored to be invited back to design a second studio for Bala Yoga. Like the first Bala Yoga studio, the owners wanted the space to feel welcoming and lounge-like, but with a bit more of a refined city flare.
When our principal designer started planning, the mix-use commercial building was under construction, which gave us the opportunity to plan the layout of the space from the beginning. The main challenge was to merge two commercial retail spaces into one while maintaining an open-flow floor plan.
This time around, we sourced fabric from Thailand to upholster a large custom daybed. We incorporated lacy floral wallpaper and had a large slab of walnut finished for the top of the front desk. Those details, along with the imported furniture and custom retail clothing racks, created an eclectic and inspiring space.
